Blacksburg, VA – Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to roll into southwest Virginia Sunday afternoon, putting travel on high alert across Blacksburg and along Route 460.

Thunderstorms could hit as early as 2 p.m. Sunday, with gusts up to 21 mph. Drivers on Route 460 should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, especially during peak afternoon and evening hours.
Rain continues overnight Sunday with possible thunder before 8 a.m. Monday. Flash flooding is not currently forecast, but localized ponding is likely in low-lying areas. Outdoor plans should be rescheduled, and residents are urged to monitor local weather alerts.
